Was wondering if anyone else is experiencing extremely bad audio quality with the Spotify channel on a Roku 4? It's the worst on the Spotify channel but to a lesser degree its bad with the Pandora channel too. It's like its distorted no matter what volume level its at. I have it connected to a surround receiver and have tried both HDMI and optical connections (its fun to force the Roku to use the optical btw) and the audio is still terrible. I have done all troubleshooting possible including swapping out cables, using different input ports, turning off all music enhancements on the receiver and using all sound modes, including the best one which is 'none.' I ended up replacing the whole receiver with a new one (for different reasons) and the audio still sounds terrible. Roku even replaced the player itself due to the fan spinning issue but the audio is the same on the new unit.

There's also a healthy dose of streaming music services, including Amazon Prime Music, Google Play Music, iHeartRadio, Pandora, and Spotify. Roku's search has always been top-notch, and with the. Spotify app on the Roku was in fact horrible. As we look to improve the overall Spotify experience, we removed our app from Roku TV systems on December 22nd, 2017. We hope to have a better version of Spotify on these devices in future. Apparently, the app was dying a slow death. Using the Roku Media Player app, I had no problem playing 16-bit, 44kHz FLAC audio files from a USB hard drive, and I was able to use the same app to stream similar files over my Wi-Fi connection.
